Coaching others is what I do best and the thread that runs throughout my entire career in education. I have a diverse background in education and leadership, with experience as an award-winning K-12 educator, education nonprofit founder, and an Undergraduate Administrator. As a Theater Arts Teacher and Director at KIPP DC, I taught and directed casts of students, fostering brave cultures and earning recognition for excellence in teaching. Additionally, as the Director of Dartmouth Outing Club First-Year Trips, I led a team in facilitating the recruitment and training of student volunteers, while also managing a significant budget. I recently moved out to Stanford for graduate school with the goal of expanding the impact with KIPP DC, which led me to co-founding a nonprofit organization, Better Together. At the Stanford GSB, I spend most of my extracurricular time coaching others in personal narrative development as a TALK Coach, where I coach dozens of classmates on preparing and sharing their stories with the rest of their classmates. This has led me to a coaching class, where I honed my practice of co-active coaching. I'd be thrilled to leverage my own expertise in education and coaching to support you in achieving your goals.

As a coach, I have extensive experience guiding children in developing their interests and cultivating positive habits. Over the years, I have mentored 6 kids, teaching them to focus on their passions, manage their emotions, gain self-awareness, and explore new subjects in-depth. I excel at helping children discover and immerse themselves in activities they genuinely enjoy. I also equip parents with effective strategies for positively nurturing their child's growth. Moreover, I coach children and families on recognizing and regulating emotions in a healthy manner. When venturing into novel areas, I dedicate myself to thoroughly researching the field so I can provide knowledgeable guidance. I am passionate about sharing my insights to empower more individuals, especially young people, to find purpose, reach their potential, and live meaningful lives. I approach Executive Functioning as a leadership development challenge. While most Executive Functioning coaching focus on the "functioning" parts (skill-building at the surface-level), my approach focus on developing the "executive": I've found that when young people are more connected to their dreams and values, many of the "functioning" skills and habits come naturally. My curriculum addresses both the technical aspects (skill- and habit-building) and the adaptive components of personal change (finding voice and courage, connecting with dreams, developing confidence -- key leadership capacities). My curriculum is based on human development theories and research, centering how to prepare young people to be fulfilled adults--authors of their own lives. I've been mentoring and advising young people for over ten years -- as a First Year Advisor at Harvard University, I guided underclassmen through academic course selection, the college transition, and personal development challenges; and as a Junior Advisor at Williams College, I lived with and mentored college freshmen through the first year of college. My professional roles have involved extensive mentoring and leadership development for new analysts as they develop both technical skills and adaptive capacities to progress in their careers. I've coached students with a broad mix of Executive Functioning challenges, from adapting to new workloads and schools, to strengthening study habits and organization capacities, to finding motivation.

For 35 years, I have worked with well over 1000 math students at all levels of ability, subject matter, and test preparation. My experience as a math coach is primarily academic tutoring for high school students. I have worked with students as young as 5 and have also worked with college and graduate students (e.g., teaching Statistics to Master's Candidates in Psychology). I also have 10 years of experience teaching in the classroom for students in grades 7-12. I offer a Calculus Bootcamp (class of 5 students) for truly motivated and talented students: 60 hours of instruction over the course of 2 weeks--this is designed for rising HS seniors and college Freshman who are about to take Calculus in the classroom for the first time--the bootcamp covers an entire year of Calculus AB (equivalent to the first semester of college calculus).
