As a first generation professional, I understand how stressful navigating the law school admissions process can be for applicants. After a post-graduation public interest fellowship and some time in big law, I spent more than a decade working at two T14 law schools—the University of Chicago and Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. My time working in legal education in both recruiting and student affairs means I am well-versed in how best to navigate the admissions process and select and succeed in the law school that is right for you. I am particularly passionate about working with those first generation professionals who are navigating the admissions process and with those from backgrounds historically excluded from the legal profession.

I’m a former Law Review editor and a federal judicial law clerk with firsthand experience navigating the T14 admissions process and the transfer process, having started at Berkeley before transferring to HLS. I’ve worked at top tech companies and with reputable law firms, giving me deep insight into what law schools and employers are looking for in their candidates. I earned my JD from Howard University School of Law, graduating in the top 10% of my class while serving on law review. After law school, I joined Paul, Weiss and later Kirkland & Ellis, advising leading private-equity sponsors on multi-billion-dollar M&A transactions, carve-outs, and complex fund formations. This combination of elite legal training and high-stakes deal work gives me a deep understanding of what top law schools and firms look for in applicants and future attorneys. He has guided clients into schools like Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley, UChicago, Upenn, Columbia, Yale, London School of Economics, King's College London, Duke, Cornell, Georgetown, USC, and Johns Hopkins. Brian was personally admitted to multiple Ivy League law schools before choosing to pursue a JD at UC Berkeley. He also holds a master of social science from UCLA. His research interests include Bitcoin, green finance, and civil liberties.
