With a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Journalism from the University of Alabama, I bring a unique approach to test preparation, focusing on effective communication and strategy. I graduated from Harvard with the John Harvard Scholarship (top 5% GPA), a major in Integrative Biology, and a minor in Computer Science. I have over 6 years of experience working as a full-time tutor for the ACT, SAT, and SSAT. I have worked with over 55 clients on the ACT alone, and I have taken almost every practice test that has been released since 2014. In my free time, I create ACT software for the TI-Nspire Calculator and free online instructional videos for a wide audience. On average, my students have enjoyed improvements of anywhere between 4-9 points on the ACT. I know how to teach the English sections so that you will receive a perfect score. In the two tutoring companies I have worked for in the past, I was promoted to the highest tutoring status. I also work with college admissions, and of the six students I worked with this year, three received interviews to Harvard. I tutor full-time, and I am ready to help you reach the score of your dreams.

I took the ACT twice and got a 34 and 35 with no tutoring. I was able to improve my score simply through reading and realizing my own shortcomings.

I have been a full-time tutor for over a decade now, and during that time I've worked with more than 300 students prepping for the ACT. Many students come to me after having taken the test once already, but I have also helped plenty of students prepare for their first taking of the test. Those who spend at least 10 sessions with me regularly experience improvement of at least 3 points on their composite score. Most students I have worked with reach out for help with a specific section of the ACT, but I have provided full test preparation for many others. For the English section, I provide expert guidance on grammatical rules and rhetorical techniques. For ACT Math, I offer extensive review on both the basics and advanced skills, while also teaching test-taking and calculator skills. Concentrated work on the English or Math section often yields improvement of at least 4 points in that section.

The ACT is fast becoming my favorite undergraduate entrance exam. Although I did not take it in high school, once I began tutoring the SAT for Kaplan, I was asked to try the ACT. I tested in and started cracking the code. After working with at least 400 clients on this exam, I've become familiar with its patterns, and I've tailored techniques to improve any student's experience with this test. Like the SAT, the ACT has recently been shortened, and the Science section is no longer required. As such, I believe this is the best time to take this test.
