On the March 12th, 2022 MCAT, I scored 524/528, a 100th percentile score. I got 132/132 on Critical Analysis and Reasoning (CARS), 132/132 on Biology and Biochemistry (BB), 130/132 on CP (Chemistry and Physics), and 130/132 on Psychology and Sociology (PS). I studied for 6 months using Kaplan books, UWorld, third party full-length exams, and AAMC full-length exams. My AAMC FL average was 523/528. As a tutor for over eight years, I have extensive experience mentoring and teaching students of all ages and levels. Instead of making students memorize formulas and plug-and-chug to get answers, I encourage them to understand the principles and strategies behind each problem. My favorite teaching moment is helping students create their own examples and analogies to achieve that "eureka" moment when everything clicks.

My journey to a 524 was complicated, with many twists and turns in the road as I learned the study strategy that worked best for me. After my own experience, I developed my tutoring strategy so that others might reach (or exceed!) their target score with a plan tailored to their learning preferences and habits. Navigating the many MCAT resources out there is complicated to say the least, and it is my hope that I can help you tailor your study strategy to maximize the impact of your efforts.

Over the last five years, I've developed a toolkit to fundamentally change the way many students approach the MCAT. A reasoning test first and foremost, I've built on my foundational teaching skills to help students not only meet their goals, but often exceed them. Going through the premed process can be arduous and anxiety-provoking, and preparing for a high-stakes examination like the MCAT is no exception. I've honed in on skills fostered through years of working as a mentor and teacher with the CURB Peer Mentorship Program, teaching in local K-12 high schools in Ithaca through 21st Century & REACH and conducting in-person and online MCAT tutoring with both Yale and Cornell undergrads. Now, having adapted a course full of materials, strategies, and resources to guide my students, I'm excited to use Leland's platform to share my insights and strategies to the next generation of future physicians. I scored in the 99th percentile in the MCAT, but what sets me apart is my motivation to adapt and invest in the needs of every one of my students.
