As a first-generation American, I've seen firsthand the power that a quality education has to improve one's station in life. My coaching philosophy is holistic - I've helped students with everything from improving their SAT scores to crafting a powerful narrative to ensuring they are applying to schools that are the right "fit" for them. I draw on my own college experience, my past clients' process, and my time as a Harvard alumni admissions interviewer to inform your admissions journey. Additionally, my childhood in a multilingual household and my experience working overseas makes me uniquely positioned to help students who studied outside of the US or for whom English is not a native language.

Outside of my coaching work, I am a Financial Analyst at Apple supporting Infrastructure Services Finance. After graduating with both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees, working for UNC Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and working as a College Admissions Consultant, I am well-versed in the world of college admissions. I've helped students with everything from choosing classes and extracurriculars, standardized test preparation, and school selections to editing their Common App Essay/personal statements, helping formulate their application, and interview preparation. I have additionally lived in four different countries and am very comfortable advising international students, as well as US students that hope to go to university abroad, specifically in the UK. I graduated from Harvard College with a BA in English in 2014. I'm proud to say that my students themselves have received offers from all of the Ivy League colleges + MIT and Stanford, and won over $35k in scholarships! As an English concentrator at Harvard, I specialized in creative writing (fiction & poetry) and took part in highly competitive writing seminars with esteemed writers such as Jamaica Kincaid, Jorie Graham, Bret Johnston, and Joshua Bell. With years of experience guiding high school students through the college application process, I specialize in helping students discover and articulate their unique stories. I’ve supported students applying to a range of competitive colleges, drawing from my professional expertise in narrative building, writing, and strategic positioning. I graduated from Harvard with the John Harvard Scholarship (top 5% GPA), a major in Integrative Biology, and a minor in Computer Science. I have over 6 years of experience working as a full-time tutor for the ACT, SAT, and SSAT. I have also worked as a college essay consultant for the past two years. I have worked with over ten clients by giving interviews and assisting with college essays. Out of the five clients I worked with during this admissions cycle, four received interviews at Harvard. On average, my students have enjoyed improvements of anywhere between 150-250 points on the SAT. I know how to teach the Writing sections so that you will receive a perfect score. Two of my students have increased their scores from 600-800 in this section, and most of my students end my program scoring perfectly on the writing section especially. My ACT tutoring prep follows similar statistics. In the two tutoring companies I have worked for in the past, I was promoted to the highest tutoring status. As a recent grad from the University of Virginia, and a former transfer student myself, I know how to navigate the admissions process well. Applying to college not only once but twice has given me a unique perspective on what schools look for and especially how to maximize your chances as a transfer student. I also led the transfer student organization while at UVA and was able to meet and learn from many others who had their own unique experiences and paths to acceptance. I have deep insight into the Ivy League admissions world from my 3.5 years as a Recruitment Coordinator for Yale University, where I was a part of both prospective and admitted students yield strategies and fostered great relationships with admissions officers. As a hired Senior Interviewer for Yale, I interviewed 120+ prospective students (including international and QuestBridge students), which gave me insight into what works and doesn't work in a college interview. I started to help high school students put together their college applications in the years after my graduation, helping them achieve admission to the likes of Harvard, MIT, and Williams College. I focus on holistic application support - from choosing one's majors to the big boss: writing the personal statement to the supplementary essays and finally to interview prep. My experience as a college counselor in several incredible high schools is complemented by my background in supporting student mental health and well-being. This allows me to create plans that will help you to manage even the most stressful moments of this process. Get organized, break a large process down into small tasks, and start moving forward, my friends :) I started my career as a counselor at Hunter College High School in New York City where students aim high (like, really high) and get in! HCHS also boasts a solid percentage of first generation college students gaining acceptance to highly selective colleges. I was a core part of the team founding the college counseling program at Leman Manhattan Preparatory School, leading to exceptional college acceptances. I have worked in international schools with students from dozens of countries, and have supported the development of counseling programs in the US, China, and Japan. I have also been a professional college admissions interviewer, and am a contributing writer for several incredible college admissions websites and platforms. I have presented at college admissions conferences in the US, Asia, and Europe, and I have also been a member of national college admissions organizations for more than 15 years. I have visited more than 100 US college campuses, meeting with admissions officers at each one, as well as visits to over 30 campuses in the UK, Canada, Japan, Singapore, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and more.
