Wesley Tan is currently pursuing a dual major in Computer Engineering at Dartmouth College and Economics and Computer Science at Wesleyan University as a Freeman Asian Scholar, a prestigious full-merit scholarship awarded annually to one Singaporean. Wesley graduated from ACS Independent, Singapore, with a perfect 45/45 Points in the IB Diploma exams, excelling in Higher Level Physics, Mathematics, and Economics. He also achieved a 99th percentile score on the ACT, including a perfect 12/12 in ACT Writing.
Wesley has mentored over 30 students from prestigious institutions like ACS Independent, ACS International, SOTA, SJI, and international students from France, the US, Germany, and Ecuador. His students have consistently achieved significant grade improvements across IB and AP subjects.
Wesley has gained substantial professional experience across various roles. He interned in Product Management and Data Science at Treehouse Finance in Singapore, where he contributed to product strategy development and built comprehensive product roadmaps. Additionally, as a Research Assistant at the privacy-tech-lab in Connecticut, USA, he contributed to impactful research projects. His experience extends to investment analysis, having interned at Coinhako and Farquhar Capital in Singapore.
Wesley is deeply committed to social impact and education. He founded Consultation Corner, a non-profit organization that provides mentorship to IB students, and initiated tutoring programs for underprivileged youths at Clementi Wishing Well and Heartfriends. As the Head of Education & Career Guidance (ECG) at SGExams, Singapore’s largest online student society, Wesley founded pathfinding.exams.sg, an innovative integrated ECG platform that has benefited countless students. Additionally, as the Country Director of the ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO), he charted annual strategies and helmed outreach efforts, increasing the volunteer pool from 10 to over 40 youths, significantly impacting the regional community.
Wesley's leadership extends to the Mathematics Competition Team Executive Committee, where he has earned top awards in international and regional competitions, including Distinction at the British Maths Olympiad, Prize Award at the Australian Intermediate Maths Olympiad, and Gold at the Singapore & Asian Schools Maths Olympiad. As the Director of Conferences for the Young Diplomats’ Society, Wesley organized and chaired major conferences, enhancing students' understanding of global affairs and international law.
Wesley’s expertise spans various domains, including social impact initiatives, technical skills in coding (Python, JavaScript), and research in privacy technologies. He has a strong foundation in project management and non-profit startups, having led and mentored several initiatives aimed at empowering youth and fostering educational development.

His approach to mentoring emphasizes the importance of understanding fundamental concepts over rote memorization, encouraging students to think critically and creatively.
