Carinne has helped clients get into these schools:
After graduating with both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees, working for UNC Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and working as a College Admissions Consultant, I am well-versed in the world of college admissions. I've helped students with everything from choosing classes and extracurriculars, standardized test preparation, and school selections to editing their Common App Essay/personal statements, helping formulate their application, and interview preparation. I have additionally lived in four different countries and am very comfortable advising international students, as well as US students that hope to go to university abroad, specifically in the UK. Some schools my students have gotten into include: Northwestern, University of Washington, UNC Chapel Hill, Hofstra BS/MD program, Penn State Schreyer Honors College, Virginia Tech, and more.
About Carinne
I am a graduate with my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from UNC Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University trained in Chemistry and Physiology. I am an educator, having taught undergraduate science courses, and I have extensive college admissions experience (work experience reading applications at The University of Michigan and UNC Chapel Hill). I love helping students find their passion and arming them with the knowledge needed to succeed in both the college admissions process and in higher education. I have specific expertise in essays (including brainstorming topics, writing the essays, and editing drafts), as well as undergraduate/graduate/professional school applications, and international students/universities.
Why do I coach?
When I applied to college back in 2015, I loved visiting the universities, writing the essays, and being a part of the admissions world, even from the perspective of an applicant. I knew during my undergraduate degree that I wanted to continue playing a part in the admissions process. My four years through the UNC Office of Undergraduate Admissions cemented not only my passion, but showed me the importance and impact mentorship can have on those who are hoping to be in your shoes one day. Since then, I've gone on to start my own college admissions business and have been on the admissions committee at The University of Michigan. As a trained STEM educator, I have a deep passion for mentoring and teaching others. Combining that love with the world of college admissions was a no-brainer, and I can't wait to continue building relationships with future students and families.
