About Spencer

Recruiting Experience: As a former Engagement Manager at McKinsey, I understand what it takes to navigate the consulting recruitment process and succeed once you're in. When I was recruiting, I made it to final rounds with every top firm (MBB), as well as several secondary firms, and ultimately received multiple offers. At McKinsey, I went through formal interview training, led recruiting efforts for my office and non-target school, and helped many candidates polish their resumes, craft compelling cover letters, and prepare for interviews. Coaching and Development Expertise: At McKinsey, I coached more than 20 Business Analysts and fellow Engagement Managers to develop the skills needed to excel in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. My ability to coach clients, lead teams, solve complex problems, and deliver results was consistently highlighted in my performance reviews. These experiences shape how I approach coaching—focused, practical, and tailored to your goals. Who I Am: I studied engineering because I wanted to be challenged and develop the tangible analytical skills. However, during my internships, I realized that while engineering problems were challenging, they often felt narrow in scope and impact. Consulting offered me the chance to tackle big, complex issues that directly influence companies’ strategies and success. I felt consulting was the perfect way to combine my skillset with high impact work.

Why do I coach?

I’m passionate about helping others with similar backgrounds successfully navigate their journey into consulting. Breaking into the business world can feel daunting, especially when you come from a technical background or lack access to the right resources. As an engineer transitioning into consulting, I experienced the steep learning curve firsthand. I want to be the resource I wish I’d had—someone to provide clear, actionable guidance on mastering case interviews, building meaningful connections, and hitting the ground running in a new environment. There’s nothing more rewarding to me than seeing someone overcome these challenges and thrive in their career. Coaching is my way of paying it forward, and I’m here to make sure you’re prepared for every step of the process.
