About Santosh
I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of technology and medicine—where engineering meets human impact. My journey started in Toronto, where I studied Engineering Science and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto, fascinated by how robotics could push the boundaries of surgery. That curiosity led me to build algorithms for surgical robots navigating the heart and lungs at Johnson & Johnson MedTech and Intuitive, blending motion control, AI, and real-time imaging to enhance surgical precision. But I wanted to do more than just develop technology—I wanted to bring it to the world. That realization took me to Harvard Business School, where I learned how to scale innovation beyond the lab and into the hands of doctors. Through HBS, I deepened my understanding of strategy, finance, and commercialization, equipping me to navigate the complex healthcare landscape. Today, I work at the intersection of AI, robotics, and healthcare entrepreneurship, helping translate breakthrough science into real-world businesses. As Founder & CEO of Moonshot, I focus on building the next generation of healthcare innovators through experiential learning. Moonshot is a bootstrapped, solopreneur business that is profitable, and has been a great way for me to explore non-traditional career pathways beyond startups and corporate. It has afforded me a great deal of flexibility and control over my time - which allows me to pursue other complementary roles in Venture and Consulting. As a Venture Partner at Heinz Ventures LLC I help identify and support paradigm-shifting technologies in early-stage health tech. Beyond startups and education, I also run Starscape Consulting, where I advise healthcare and medtech companies on market entry, go-to-market strategy, and scaling innovation. My work spans AI-driven platforms, digital health, and medical devices, helping companies bridge the gap between technical feasibility and commercial success. My path hasn’t been linear. I’ve navigated career pivots, business school applications, and the challenge of bridging deep technical knowledge with strategic leadership. I’ve learned that success in healthcare technology isn’t about following a traditional path—it’s about carving your own. Whether it was building my first LEGO surgical robot as a teenager, pitching a strategy pivot to senior leaders at Intuitive, or helping shape the future of AI-driven surgery, my journey has been fueled by curiosity, resilience, and the drive to make a lasting impact. I’m always happy to connect with others who are passionate about healthcare, technology, and building something that matters.
Why do I coach?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the guidance of mentors who helped me navigate the complexities of career transitions, business school applications, and breaking into healthcare technology. I’ve been the engineer sitting in a back-office cubicle, wondering how to get a seat at the table. I’ve been the medtech strategist trying to bridge the gap between innovation and commercialization. I’ve been the MBA applicant refining my story, struggling to translate technical expertise into a compelling leadership narrative. At every critical inflection point, mentors made the difference—not by handing me answers, but by helping me ask the right questions. They pushed me to think bigger, challenged me to refine my approach, and gave me the confidence to pursue opportunities I never thought possible. Coaching, to me, is about paying that forward. I know how isolating and overwhelming career decisions can feel, especially if you’re coming from a non-traditional background or trying to break into highly specialized fields like medtech, AI, or healthcare entrepreneurship. I also know that having the right guidance—someone who has walked a similar path, faced similar challenges, and figured out how to navigate them—can be game-changing. That’s why I do this. Whether you’re trying to get into a top MBA program, pivot into a leadership role in healthcare technology, or launch a company, I want to help you avoid unnecessary mistakes, gain clarity, and accelerate your path forward. Coaching isn’t just about tactics—it’s about helping you think more strategically about your career, your story, and your impact. If you’re at a crossroads and looking for guidance, I’d love to help.
