In my own application, I benefitted greatly from an admissions consultant who coached me to write the best essay possible to capture my unique qualities and strengths. This preparation and pre-write process was instrumental, and I will work with you on the ideation exercises that we did together as well as provide more general thought partnership around the key themes and stories you would like to highlight in your admissions essay. You want to ensure your application is well-rounded; I will read through your application in its entirety to make sure we use your essay tactically to fill in any missing details. Quick tip: When you submit your MBA application, you must be able to say without a doubt that the admissions committee knows who YOU are after reading your materials - authenticity is paramount. I have always been an avid reader and strong writer, and am the de facto editor for my friends and family. For credentials, I scored in the 99th percentile on GMAT verbal; received a perfect SAT score for my college applications in 2012 (2400); and a perfect SAT critical reading score (800). I will be able to help you not only with essay ideation but also with structural questions and revisions. While I am most passionate about essay ideation and writing, I am qualified to help on any of the short answer questions, as well as work with you to create the strongest MBA resume possible.

My name is Emma, and I live in Cambridge, MA, where I am pursuing my MBA at HBS. Prior to HBS, I worked in private equity, investment banking, and strategic finance, all with a consumer and retail industry focus. I have benefitted immensely from the mentors in my life (this was my HBS essay topic!) and I would love to work with you and continue to pay that back. Whether you are aiming to get accepted to your MBA program of choice or would instead prefer to talk private equity or investment banking recruiting tactics, I am here to help. Please see below for my areas of focus : MBA Applications I applied to HBS and Wharton in 2019 (R1) and was accepted into both schools. I also took the GMAT while working full-time in PE. I would be happy to coach on any of the below topics: - Full-time MBA admissions strategy - Resume review - Essay ideation process - Essay revisions - Interview preparation PE & IB Resume Review and Interview Prep I broke into investment banking (and subsequently private equity) coming from a liberal arts background (Hamilton College is my alma matter). I have mentored 20+ undergrads and current investment bankers (via WSO and word-of-mouth referrals) on landing their dream IB or PE jobs and can help with the following: - Investing or consumer-retail specific career advice - IB and PE technical interview prep (NOT cases) - Resume reviews Outside of work, I love spending time with friends. I love cooking for people, working out, and reading and writing (specifically have been reading essay collections as of late). A theme around authenticity and ownership emerged during my HBS interview, and I think this is a reason why I was accepted. Why do I coach?
I worked with an admissions coach throughout my MBA process who was instrumental in helping with essay ideation and interview prep. Prior to working with my coach, my instinct would have been to immediately put pen to paper; instead, he coached me through essay ideation (3+ weeks!) and I benefitted greatly from this slow and thoughtful approach. I have always prided myself on being a strong writer, and I come from a lineage of professional writers and editors (thanks, Mom and Dad!). I will provide you with revision suggestions that hone your narrative and improve essay concision, without losing your authentic voice. I find mentoring personally fulfilling and genuinely love getting to know the people I work with. I have formally worked as a mentor at Wall Street Oasis for nearly five years, and also have met clients via Hamilton and Citi. One of the best things about mentorship is maintaining relationships with former mentees.
