Steve’s Management Consulting Qualifications
Experience level: Consultant
10+ people coached for Management Consulting
I have been with BCG since 2022 and was promoted to Consultant in 2024. Prior to joining BCG, I gained significant experience preparing for and applying to interviews with top consulting firms, including McKinsey, Bain, BCG, LEK, Deloitte, and others. This journey has equipped me with a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in the highly competitive consulting recruitment process. Over the years, I have successfully coached several candidates to excel in case interviews, build strong networks, and adopt a strategic approach to breaking into management consulting. I believe the keys to success are the following: (1) Practice – Casing is a skill that requires consistent practice, repetition, and the ability to recognize patterns. Building this muscle is essential. (2) Readiness to Learn – Coachability, diligence, and enthusiasm are traits that help candidates stand out and demonstrate their potential. (3) Grit – The candidates who secure offers are those who maintain focus and resilience, navigating both setbacks and wins with determination and mental toughness.

About Steve
I grew up in London, England, and pursued my studies in the United States at the University of Chicago, where I earned a double major in Economics and English Literature. This combination reflects my belief in the power of blending analytical rigor with creative expression—a perspective that has shaped both my personal and professional journey. Professionally, I was an early employee within DoorDash's New Verticals DashMart business, where I was hired as the first Operations Manager. This role gave me invaluable insights into operating a startup, wearing multiple hats, and navigating challenges in a fast-paced environment. It also took me from the Midwest to Silicon Valley. More recently, I’ve been working in management consulting with BCG, collaborating with executives on transformative initiatives and driving strategic impact across industries including Retail, Financial Institutions, and Tech. Outside of work, I'm passionate about international cinema, playing football/soccer, and live concerts.
Why do I coach?
Coaching has been pivotal in my personal and professional growth, and I’m passionate about paying it forward. I’ve experienced how the right coach provides not only guidance but also a thoughtful challenge—helping to refine ideas, eliminate bias, and craft the most compelling story. What excites me most is working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, each with unique stories and perspectives. Everyone’s journey is different, and I love uncovering those experiences and helping candidates showcase their individuality. Diverse perspectives elevate storytelling, and collaborating to highlight them makes the process both meaningful and energizing.
