About Ryan
Originally from San Diego, California, I earned my bachelor's degree at Brigham Young University and pursued my master's at the London School of Economics, focusing on Anthropology and Development. Anthropology proved to be the perfect convergence of my passions for history, languages, and the arts, offering a lens through which to explore human complexities. Throughout my educational and professional journey, I've come to realize that sustainable change is most effectively achieved by embracing the rich cultural diversity that exists around the world. My experiences have also led me to collaborate extensively with Amazonian Indigenous communities in Ecuador and with diverse NGOs spanning the United States, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, and Uganda. My work has primarily been centered around empowering women within their unique contexts. Presently, I serve as an Operations and Program Manager at Women of the World, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting refugee women in Salt Lake City. My journey has been shaped by a passion for cultural understanding and gender empowerment, and I am excited to continue channeling this enthusiasm into impactful endeavors.
Why do I coach?
Throughout my own journey, I've been fortunate to be guided by mentors who shared their advice and support. During graduate school, I grappled with imposter syndrome and a sense of inadequacy in my studies. My mentor at LSE was a beacon of support, offering both constructive criticism and positive reinforcement for my work, which had a profound impact on boosting my self-confidence and abilities. Her encouragement to embrace risks, explore new ideas, and push beyond my comfort zone was transformative for me. This experience demonstrates the incredible influence mentors can have, and inspires me to pay it forward. I strongly believe in the power of shared knowledge and the unmatched satisfaction of helping individuals realize their goals. As a coach, I aspire to instill inspiration, motivation, and unwavering confidence in my future clients' journeys!
