About Rourke

I'm a huge believer in everyone has a story! Mine can hopefully give you an idea there is no one "right" path to get into your top MBA program. I studied Electrical Engineer at the University of Michigan and I spent the majority of my time on student engineering project competitions rather than focusing on class. So much so my GPA was below the averages you'll see on MBA program website - I had a 3.16 GPA, and a 710 GMAT when I applied. I had internship experiences at Ford and Waymo before taking a job in engineering at Ford after graduation. I moved around the company and when I was in Corporate Strategy I started reconsidering when was the right time to apply to MBA programs. I devoted a massive amount of time to essays and with some great mentors and a little bit of luck I was admitted to MIT Sloan, HBS, Tuck, & Carnegie Mellon. I'm now at HBS working on a company at the intersection of Electric Vehicles & the Energy Industry! I've had a chance to work with clients across a variety of backgrounds, career trajectories, GPAs, and test scores!
