I have deep insight into the Ivy League admissions world from my 3.5 years as a Recruitment Coordinator for Yale University, where I was a part of both prospective and admitted students yield strategies and fostered great relationships with admissions officers. As a hired Senior Interviewer for Yale, I interviewed 120+ prospective students (including international and QuestBridge students), which gave me insight into what works and doesn't work in a college interview. I started to help high school students put together their college applications in the years after my graduation, helping them achieve admission to the likes of Harvard, MIT, and Williams College. I focus on holistic application support - from choosing one's majors to the big boss: writing the personal statement to the supplementary essays and finally to interview prep. I'm looking forward to working with passionate and driven students!

About Min
I graduated from Yale University with a degree in Psychology-Neuroscience and am recently completed an MBA student at Harvard Business School. During my time at Yale, I was an Undergraduate Recruitment Coordinator and Senior Interviewer, during which I led student forums, managed recruitment and yield-focused events like Multicultural Open House and Bulldog Days (admitted students weekend), engaged both prospective and admitted students, and interviewed over 120 prospective students from all around the world. After graduating, I continued my role in college admissions through independent tutoring. So far, I've helped students get into schools like Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Williams College, Wash U at St. Louis, and more! I care deeply about telling genuine yet compelling stories. My mentoring process is deeply rooted in learning not just about a student's academic performance, but their upbringing, values, "quirks," and interests to allow the application to reflect this entire identity. I pour my all to make sure each student feels comfortable sharing their whole selves with me so that we can put together the strongest application that goes beyond just the numbers. In my free time, I like to take photos (street and portrait), record podcast episodes (published and private), and read about the latest research in social and interpersonal psychology.
Why do I coach?
As an immigrant, I really only knew the name Harvard coming into the US. When application season came around, I felt like I was running in the dark with no real sense of direction. I feel incredibly privileged and lucky to have found a college application mentor who not only introduced me to the world of diverse colleges and universities, but also dedicated so much of her time to craft my story as finely as possible. She made my application journey incredibly reflective, therapeutic, and even fun sometimes - what was a daunting task at first had transformed into a few months of sifting through my life stories (both good and bad) and putting it on paper for colleges to see. Ever since, I've wanted to demystify the process and familiarize students with it so that they, too, can feel less apprehensive about what is supposed to be one of the most important decisions of their lives. I want to share as much information and tips as I can and debunk the "perfect formula" myth of college admissions. I've felt incredible joy in students becoming excited to discover new schools they had never heard of or finding that there's the perfect program to pursue their dream at another. Of course, getting the calls that they were accepted does make my job a lot more enjoyable.
