About Milo
"I am a current MBA student at Harvard Business School, having spent two years at BCG before with my degree in Economics from Yale University." If you had told me 10 years ago that this would be my bio, I would have not believed it. I learned about Management Consulting in high school when I had to do a project on my future career and I Googled: Jobs that pay well, allow you to travel, and help you learn a ton. I had never met a consultant in my life; I come from a low-income, first-generation immigrant family. Nonetheless, I wrote about BCG in my presentation because its logo was green, my favorite color. Fast forward to 2025, 2 summer internships and 2 years at BCG, and I feel very grateful for the algorithm of Google guiding me to this industry. I have been helping people learn about consulting, get and prepare for case interviews, and manage the difficulties of the job for the last 5 years. I know what companies are looking for at both the undergraduate and MBA level and feel confident in my ability to help you succeed in consulting interviews, regardless of the stage you currently find yourself. Why do I coach?

Before classes start, all incoming HBS MBAs take a career self-assessment to help uncover their innate interests, with categories ranging from 'Quantitative Analysis' to 'Influencing Others'. The assessment gives you a percentile for each interest type, which compares how you rank in that interest category across all MBAs who have ever taken the test. My highest score, at the 99th percentile, was 'Coaching and Mentoring'. I truly enjoy helping others grow and achieve their full potential - nothing makes me feel more useful in life. I have decided to join Leland as a coach to help others reach their goals of working in management consulting in a holistic and personal manner.

Worked as an Associate across a variety of functional practices such as People & Organizations, Digital Transformation, TURN & Social Impact and across industries such as Consumer, Micro-Finance, Private Equity, and Educational Travel. On path for Consultant promotion prior to leaving for HBS. Specific project experience: - Spearheaded offshoring workstream for turnaround project by leading relationships with 3 C-suite clients whose teams totaled over 70% of org, creating substantial improvements in profit margin. - Led customer and competitor modules across buy & sell-side private equity due diligence projects ranging in industries from construction engineering services to MedTech contract manufacturing. - Developed and executed a company-wide technical skills readiness assessment & ran the business case model during a digital operating model implementation for a large wine and spirits distributor. - Developed prioritization framework and a new branch operating model for a US-based microfinance nonprofit and presented recommendations directly to the organization's senior leadership team. - Executed original research in behavioral science through BCG's Henderson Institute supporting BCG's latest thinking on "change aversion" and "change distance" in corporate transformations. - Nominated as inaugural Associate cohort representative reporting to Boston's office leadership & selected given high performance as 1 of 4 Peer Mentors to help new Associates adjust to BCG Boston.

Gap Year / Study Abroad: I took a gap year between 2020-2021 in which, among many things, I lived in a van & traveled 15,000 miles to all 4 corners of the continental US, got scuba diving certified, and studied abroad in South Korea. I also did a semester study abroad on social entrepreneurship in Uganda, India, and Brazil. Admissions Results: I got into Yale with a Likely Letter and got into every undergraduate school I applied to (Princeton, Brown, Amherst, Williams, etc). Did not apply to Harvard or Stanford.
