I am an alumnus of the 7th cohort of Schwarzman Scholars at Tsinghua University, where I earned a Master's of Management Science in Global Affairs between 2022-23 and was selected from competitive pool of 3,000+ applicants (<5% acceptance rate). I bring firsthand experience and deep insights into what makes a successful master's application and I've previously helped advise candidates who have gone on to be accepted to prestigious graduate programs across China, Europe, and the United States. Throughout my educational journey, I've learned how to strategically frame and present one's leadership, academic, and professional accomplishments to highlight their unique strengths and successfully stand out.

About Michael
I am an alumnus of the 7th cohort of Schwarzman Scholars at Tsinghua University, where I earned a Master of Management Science in Global Affairs between 2022-23 and was selected from a competitive pool of 3,000+ applicants (<5% acceptance rate). I'm currently working as a Public Health Fellow at SwipeRx, the largest digital network of pharmacies across Southeast Asia. I previously worked as a Senior Data Analyst with the Utah Supreme Court's Office of Legal Services and as a Research Assistant at the United Nations in China. I thrive at the very edge of my comfort zone, enjoy taking calculated risks in life and career, and more often than not have taken the road less traveled. I'm an avid high-altitude mountaineer (7,500m+), have done the world's highest bungee jump (233m) six times, and have lived, worked, and traveled across every major region of the world. I'm thrilled to share the lessons I've learned along the way and to empower the next generation of future leaders to prepare for graduate programs that will help to propel their lives and careers towards achieving impact in whichever area they choose.
Why do I coach?
I'm very excited to work with prospective candidates who are pursuing Master's programs in a wide variety of areas, including but not limited to, competitive graduate fellowship/scholarship programs (e.g. Schwarzman Scholars, Gates-Cambridge, Rhodes, Knight-Hennessy, Marshall, etc.) which offer deeply transformative and life changing opportunities. I attended a small, unranked liberal arts college for my undergraduate studies and became the first Schwarzman Scholar to represent my school in program history. This would never have been possible without a long list of mentors and supporters who tirelessly advocated for me in multiple ways. I'm especially keen to support those who come from non-traditional/underrepresented educational or personal backgrounds, or otherwise have not benefitted from access to strong institutional or familial support while trying to achieve ambitious goals.
