About Marcus
I'm a second year MBA at Stanford GSB, here to help applicants from all backgrounds through their MBA application process. I studied bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, but quickly realized that medical school and PhD research were not in the cards for me. I pivoted into consulting with Bain & Company where I specialized in retail and grocery strategy with a focus on food supply chains. I also developed several new diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives as part of Bain's black and LGBTQ groups. I later spent 4 months working at Plenty, a vertical farming startup, to learn more about sustainable supply chains. I am currently pursuing a joint MBA / MS in Environment and Resources through Stanford's E-IPER program, and I hope to start my own business in the sustainability or DEI space. As a coach, I enjoy working with applicants of various backgrounds and identities to help them craft a compelling story. Authenticity and intersectionality are important to me, and I look forward to helping you impress any admissions committee with your authentic, amazing self!
