About Lorena

I was born in Bogotá, Colombia, but grew up in a small town in Utah, surrounded by farms and open fields. I look back fondly on those years, and from an early age, I knew I wanted to become a nurse. This passion led me to apply to the University of Utah. Although I was confident in my career choice, the process of applying to nursing school felt intimidating. I'm incredibly grateful for the mentors who guided me through that journey. Their advice and support helped me feel both capable and confident in my decisions. Since starting nursing school, I've had the privilege of mentoring others who are applying to or currently enrolled in the program. It has been an honor to be part of their journey and to have earned their trust! I love my work as a nurse and recognize the challenges the field presents. I value open and honest conversations about healthcare and nursing, and I'm committed to helping make the experience better for everyone involved.
