Kimberly has helped clients get into these companies:
My coaching style is rooted in my deep curiosity about people and problems, skillful active listening, and an honest yet empathetic conversational style that immediately puts clients at ease. I support the client in setting clear objectives at the outset of an initial engagement and in subsequent individual sessions. I am mindful to ensure that sessions remain effective and precisely targeted to the client's goals, but I also have a flexible approach that allows me to explore deeper issues as they arise. I am adaptable coach who uses strong emotional intelligence to meet clients where they are, whether they need a cheerleader to bolster their self-confidence, a tough partner to challenge their assumptions, or a calm and patient voice to help them hold themself accountable. Clients often cite my ability to help them simplify complex problems into smaller, digestible parts that help illuminate solutions. I apply similar skills when I am working with clients who need to navigate overwhelming situations like a career change or a difficult interpersonal environment in the workplace. In these situations, I work with clients to craft powerful personal narratives or to prepare talking points for high-stakes conversations. Clients often cite how much they value my adeptness in helping them put into words what they have been thinking and feeling but have been unable to say or write for themselves. Finally, after having traveled to or worked on six out of the seven continents, clients often value my ability to empathize with clients of diverse backgrounds and cultures and to approach coaching engagements in a nuanced, non-threatening and authentic manner.

About Kimberly
I specialize in supporting clients who operate in high risk, high pressure environments. I am a global security professional with a background in fields including intelligence, counterproliferation, counterterrorism, South Asia, East Asia and Europe. Prior to founding INICIO Executive Consulting, I spent 15 years in federal government service while navigating the crisis-filled world of international security and international relations. My public sector career was defined by tackling the most pressing strategic and foreign policy issues facing the United States. After traveling the world - I've traveled or worked on six out of the seven continents - I left government service and put down roots in Silicon Valley (though I will always be a proud Texan at heart). As an ICF-certified executive coach (ACC, CEC), I bring my signature composure, insight, and mission focus to both public sector and private sector clients. I have partnered with clients across the country, from Silicon Valley to Washington, D.C., in diverse industries ranging from mountain-guiding, to technology, to national security. Clients turn to me for unmatched, objective clarity, unflappable calm, and my ability to simplify complex problems. I have a strong track record of partnership development, program management, strategic planning, and risk mitigation in fast-paced and ambiguous environments. I particularly enjoys helping clients build resiliency amid uncertainty, improve communication, and leverage emotional intelligence. I am also a career advisor for the prestigious Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service and a Coaching Program Advisor for the Center for Executive Coaching, a division of Keystone Partners.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I love meeting my clients where they are and partnering with them on transformative journeys that leave them feeling more confident, clear-eyed, and passionate about the way forward. While much of my coaching focuses on working with leaders and executives, I've joined Leland because I'm also passionate about providing access to valuable coaching resources for early-stage professionals to ensure they get an early start on a sustainable leadership path.
