You might be: • Ready to land the job, build the career, and create the life you’ve been dreaming about—or at least take a bold step in that direction. • Open to letting go of limiting beliefs that have been holding you back. • Curious about what success could look like on your own terms, beyond the conventional path. About Kamilah
In Act 1, I played the attorney. I learned how to be a good manager - of people, programs and companies. I learned how to bend IRS to my will, mwahaha (sometimes). I even learned how to network and negotiate with equity partners at AmLaw 50 firms. The work was never right for me, but I had finished law school! I passed the Bar Exam! In two states! Plus being an attorney was what was expected of me, and I'd always be able to make a good living, be respected. What did it matter that I was losing my mind? It took seven years for me to nope out. In Act 2, I played the bank examiner. I learned how to assess and manage risk at financial institutions. I got to work on big government projects, and even rate the performance of some of the largest banks in the world! And this time, the work was right for me! Until it wasn't. But I was resigned to it - I mean, this is a great job, honestly as good as it gets. Right? Right?! A couple of wise coaches suggested otherwise and I was gone the next year, just shy of my 10th anniversary. Welcome to Act 3! I'm a certified coach and the embodied practice of what I preach. Here's the deal: if a high powered, prestigious, lucrative career is for you, I have all of the experience and tools to get you there. I do it for ambitious professionals at top firms all the time. But, if you're made for something else, or even think you might be, let's sleuth it out. Each time I have changed careers, I have accomplished what "shouldn't" be possible: I earn more money, have more time, and have more energy. Want in? Follow me.
Why do I coach?
One of my favorite song lyrics is "find peace within yourself, give love to somebody else." This is my motto, and my purpose. For me, "giving love" looks like using my unique way of seeing the world, plus my skills, knowledge, and interests to help other people find their way to living their best lives. No, I don't mean the trite version from your middle aged aunt's coffee cup. Ahem. I mean actual best lives! Those based on their individual values and ideals. I coach to kidnap people from lives that don’t belong to them. To cut through the noise, challenge the status quo, and ignite the power they already have. You were made for a career—and a life—that actually fits. Let’s go get it!
