About Jonah

After being admitted to 14 of the US News top 20 Medical Schools, many of my peers turned to me for advice with their applications. Using both first-hand knowledge from applying to medical school as well as experience from working with clients as an undergraduate admissions and MCAT tutor, I was able to guide numerous students through the arduous process of applying to medical school. Now at Harvard Medical School, I have gained further insight into what qualities are essential for medical school success and how candidates are evaluated.

Why do I coach?

I became a Coach at Leland because at my undergraduate institution, quality pre-medical advising was hard to come by and other students were often of little help in navigating the many questions of the medical school application process. I wish I had the guidance of a recent admit who knew about the admissions process in depth. While there's endless advice on blog posts and Student Doctor Network, much of it frankly isn't that useful or isn't relevant to the unique needs of each applicant. This is where I believe the value of Leland comes in--my goal is to provide you with guidance about the medical school process so that you can put your best foot forward. I have substantial experience editing other students' essays and working with clients from all backgrounds, so I am confident that our sessions together will improve your chances of admission.
