Breaking into Product Management from a non-traditional background? I’ve been there. Coming from architecture and design, I successfully transitioned into tech by leveraging my unique skill set, launching side projects, and crafting a compelling personal narrative. I even gave a TEDx talk on unconventional pathfinding, sharing strategies for bold career moves. Now, I help others do the same—not just landing their first PM role, but excelling in it once they’re there. As a PM intern and now full-fledged Product Manager, I specialize in guiding entry-level and early-career professionals through key career milestones—navigating salary negotiations, building strong 30-60-90 day plans, upleveling with your manager, and finding the right mentors. I also founded the first-ever Associate Product Manager accelerator program at Autodesk, supporting learning and development for APMs. Whether you need to refine your resume, sharpen your storytelling, or build the right experiences to stand out, I’ll help you navigate the path to tech with confidence. Your background is an asset—let’s make it work for you.

About Jess
I didn’t take a traditional path into tech. I started in architecture, chasing creative work—but found myself craving more impact, faster iteration, and the chance to help build real solutions at scale. So I pivoted to Product Management. I broke in without a computer science degree or a fancy MBA. Instead, I leaned on side projects, storytelling, and a deep understanding of design and user empathy. Today, I’m a Product Manager at Autodesk—one of the world’s leading design software companies—where I also launched and led the company’s first Associate Product Manager development program, supporting dozens of early-career PMs. Now, I coach creatives and career-switchers—especially those from design, architecture, and other non-technical fields—to confidently break into product and thrive.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I know how it feels to want to break into product—but constantly question if you’re “technical enough” or have the “right” background. If you come from a design, architecture, or non-technical field, you might feel like an outsider, even when you know you have strong instincts, ideas, and people skills. I’ve been there—and I know how discouraging the process can be when you don’t fit the mold. My goal is to help you skip the second-guessing and start building with clarity and confidence. Whether you’re refining your story and resume, prepping for interviews, building portfolio projects, or simply exploring if product is the right path for you, I’ll meet you where you’re at—and help you turn your nontraditional background into your biggest asset.
