An American based in Europe (3 years in Paris, 9 years in Berlin), I work with internationally mobile teens on the process of selecting and applying to universities around the world. If the program is taught in English, it's fair game! Having lived and studied in multiple countries myself, I appreciate the many opportunities and challenges involved in planning your future. I often work with expat families to support both the student and their parents in the process of identifying best-fit universities and managing the application process. I also offer career exploration packages using the excellent YouScience platform, and packages to explore a student's unique strengths and opportunities, using the CliftonStrengths and Reflected Best Self tools. These packages can be incorporated into a comprehensive program that helps you understand your goals, identify what you want from your university studies, and then find the universities to match.

About Jennifer
I'm an American based in Berlin, Germany, where I've been living since 2015, following 3 years in Paris. I started tutoring and coaching for the GMAT and SAT in 2013 as a part-time gig when I lived in Paris, and I realized I loved it! I have a personal score of 770 on the GMAT (including V51 perfect Verbal) and 1580 on the SAT. I keep up to date with all the latest developments in the GMAT Focus and Digital SAT through close contacts in the industry and with the testmakers (GMAC) at annual meetings. I lived in the United States for 32 years; there, my career was in the management of arts and cultural institutions, and I later led a regional economic development agency. My MBA was focused on arts management, and I was fortunate to start my career with four years at The Walt Disney Company in Florida, before working in public/private partnerships following my MBA. When I moved to France, I found that my decision-making lens was deeply foreign to the performing arts organizations there. While I went on to do graduate research in theatre and translate a book (Rodin and the Dance of Shiva, if you're curious), I ended up finding my new home in education. I've taught at smaller business schools in Paris and Berlin, but most enjoy working one-on-one or in small groups with GMAT and SAT candidates. My coaching practice enables motivated young people to break through to their best performance, and ultimately achieve their goals. I do this through test prep coaching, admissions consulting, and mindset development programs. On the mindset side, I also offer the Positive Intelligence program to my students – it's a powerful way of incorporating mindfulness into your life and can make a huge difference in anxiety and stress levels.
Why do I coach?
I've always been a 99th-percentile scorer on American standardized tests, but the coaching practice I have developed over the past 11 years is about you, not me. I got hooked on test prep coaching when I lived in Paris because I felt inspired by my students: motivated young professionals who envisioned an international future for themselves, who wanted to use business as a tool for positive social impact, and who were willing to work hard to make it happen. If I take you on as a student, I will believe in your goals and do everything I can to empower you to achieve them. Over the years, I've deepened my expertise in the exams I teach (see my V51 perfect GMAT Verbal score, for example) but have also refined how I teach them, as each new student gives me another chance to learn where people may get derailed. My own need to learn has led to my specialty in mindset development – if you've ever thought that your nerves or thought process might be pulling down your performance, let's talk! I also get along particularly well with students who have lived or who seek to live abroad. Having written a master's thesis in French and done my taxes in German, I get you! I love to think (and commiserate!) about cultural differences but also about the similarities that enable us to move forward together.
