About Jake
Hi there, here's a little bit about my story! I am originally from Toronto, Canada and currently in my second year of medical school in Australia. I strongly believe in a "healthy body, healthy mind" approach, where we prioritize taking care of our physical and mental health to achieve our fullest potential. In my own experience, this approach has helped me succeed academically in medical school. I am passionate about helping others reach their goals and have joined this community to provide support and guidance to help everyone realize their full potential – whether it be getting into medical school, wanting to reach new fitness goals, or trying to maximize your social media growth… I am here to assist alongside you! I am also passionate about creating medical education content on social media, and have successfully curated over 1 million followers who value and engage with my content! Now... Applying to medical school was a challenging and daunting process, especially in Canada. Even as a qualified applicant, the process can be incredibly competitive, and I know of many worthy individuals who have applied multiple times without success. After applying to Canadian universities, I also applied to Australian schools due to their renowned reputation, and it turned out to be a fantastic opportunity for me to grow and learn. Despite the challenges of studying internationally, I have gained invaluable experiences that I will carry with me throughout my medical career. I am currently studying for my USMLE Step 1 exam, and I am excited about the opportunities that my medical school's partnership with a clinical school in the U.S. offers for my future residency applications. Though the path to becoming a doctor is long and demanding, I am confident that the rewards will be well worth the sacrifice!
Why do I coach?
Coaching and mentorship have always been incredibly important to me. Throughout my life, I have been fortunate enough to have had great mentors who have played a crucial role in helping me navigate the challenging medical school admission process, and ultimately helped me successfully receive an admission into the medical school of my choosing! Their support and guidance were invaluable, and I am forever grateful for their help. Because of these positive experiences, I have decided to become a coach myself, so that I can provide the same kind of support and guidance to others who are pursuing the same goals. As a past pre-medical student, I am wholly aware of the many components necessary in preparing a strong medical school admissions profile - whether it be your undergraduate GPA, the MCAT, interview preparation, etc.! I also carry a unique background in that I am familiar with the medical school admissions process in Canada, the United States, and Australia! I believe that coaching and mentorship are essential tools for success in any field, and I am passionate about helping others achieve their full potential.
