About Cory
I studied Business Strategy (Computer Science minor) at Brigham Young University (BYU). Now, the elephant in the room - How did a guy from BYU (not an APM feeder school), in a non-technical major, land one of the top APM roles in the world?!? I learned how to crush interviews, and I want to teach you exactly how you can too! Professionally, I have spent time as a data scientist at a local startup, product manager at Microsoft (Defender for Endpoint - data security), product growth manager at a local startup, product manager at Podium (YC backed Series D), launched my own B2B SaaS startup, and as an associate product manager (APM) at Salesforce. I have interviewed at over 60 companies, so I know the process well. So, how did I do it? I have conducted over 200 mock interviews, spent countless hours studying product management, read countless books, and failed way too many times. Let me teach you what I have learned so you can skip 15 steps and get your dream job today! My clients have landed jobs at the following companies: Microsoft, DataDog, Intuit, Qualtrics, Apple, Walmart, Capital One, and more! The roles they secured range from PM internships to full-time APM roles and even Sr. PM positions. As your coach, I will teach you how to: - How to create a world-class LinkedIn account & use it to network - Write a compelling resume tailored to the companies of your choice - Build trust with your interviewer within the first 5 minutes of the interview - Repeatedly crush your personal intro (more important than you think) - Ace common questions like: why product management? Why this company? etc. - Use frameworks to tackle common scenario questions in any interview, without needing to know them in advance. - Understand all application questions including: product design, technical, estimation, behavioral, etc. - Stand out among thousands of other applicants (Salesforce APM extends 12 offers to ~10,000 applicants)
Why do I coach?
When applying for my first product roles, I had an extensive network from family members that work in tech, making it much easier to get my foot in the door. As I have started various group for product managers to learn together, I have discovered that most men and women have an incredibly hard time building a good network and getting the opportunities they deserve. I coach to help bright individuals land the roles they are qualified for!
