I’m Cong, an economist and data leader who made a direct leap from analytical consulting into tech—landing at the staff level without “starting over.” That pivot wasn’t just a career move—it was a complete expansion of impact, scope, and ultimately, how I saw my place in the world. Before tech, I was already deep in the numbers—solving complex business problems in consulting roles. But the shift into companies like Apple and DoorDash opened a new chapter. At Apple, I led customer analysis for global product lines with billions in revenue. At DoorDash, I shaped growth and retention strategies by building cross-functional analytics from the ground up. These weren’t just bigger roles—they were different roles, requiring a shift in mindset, communication, and self-belief. Making that leap taught me what’s really required to thrive in top-tier tech environments—and it had nothing to do with starting from scratch. Now, I help others do the same: turn their hard-won experience into meaningful value in a new industry, without compromising who they are. Why do I coach?
I coach because I’ve been through the kind of transition many of my clients face. I moved from analytical consulting into a staff-level role in tech—not by following a typical path, but by learning how to communicate my value and trust my strengths in a new environment. That pivot changed not just my career, but how I saw myself. Along the way, a few mentors made a big difference. They helped me reconnect with what I really wanted, see my blind spots, and move forward with clarity. Now I do the same for others. I coach professionals who are smart, capable, and ready for change—but unsure how to take the leap. Coaching isn’t just about landing a new job.
