About Cindy

Hi, Cindy here! I was born in Tennessee and raised in New Jersey. I did my undergrad at Georgetown's School of Foreign Service, where I developed a keen interest in international development and social entrepreneurship. It was here that I realized my love of travel and spent time studying abroad in India, Brazil, and Uganda. I worked as a consultant at Kearney for several years in the healthcare space across the provider and payor spectrum. I then made a (what seems like a risky) leap into the startup world, moving halfway across the world to Bangladesh to work at a healthcare venture. Afterwards, I moved into the product space at an insurtech startup in Mexico City. Coming from a consulting background, I wanted to distinguish myself from other applicants while remaining true to my passions and interests. Given how saturated business schools are with consultants, it's becoming increasingly difficult to stand out in an already competitive pool. I've worked in the undergraduate coaching space as well, where I helped my clients get admits to their top schools like Georgetown and NYU. I worked in an essay revision capacity and I've also served as an informal mentor to many others looking to make a big career (or life) leap, those looking to break into consulting, and other joint-degree hopefuls. A couple of my qualifications below: - Admitted to both of the MBA/MPP programs I applied to with financial fellowships: Harvard Business School / Harvard Kennedy School and UChicago Booth / Harris - Current first-year joint degree student at HKS/HBS, Rubenstein Fellow with the Center for Public Leadership - Reviewed 75+ essays and papers - Given 20+ case interviews - Received management consulting offers from Kearney and Deloitte - Scored a 2400 on the SAT, 330 on GRE - Coached formally and informally 20+ students looking to apply to undergrad colleges, break into consulting, and apply to HBS/HKS joint degree program
