I lead Summer Associate and assisted with Associate recruiting for Dodge & Cox ($300B AUM mutual fund) for 2 years. During that time, I made hiring decisions and conducted over 50 buyside equity research interviews. Additionally, I've interviewed at over 25 buy and sell side equity research firms as a candidate. I can help you pitch a stock, explain your "why" for investing and, ultimately, get an investing job.
Chas also coaches for MBA and Hedge Fund. View all.
About Chas
I graduated from the Stanford GSB in 2022 and have spent most of my career in investing. Prior to business school, I worked at Credit Suisse in New York and Dodge & Cox, a mutual fund, in San Francisco. As a side hustle, I founded a career and life coaching business called Unlocked Careers. I loved this work and it drove my decision to continue coaching after business school. I specialize in two areas of coaching, MBA applications and public markets investing - mutual funds, hedge funds, and equity research. For MBA applicants, I specialize in helping my clients frame their narrative. I love helping people visualize their "why" for attending school and drilling in to who they are. Once pen is on paper, I give honest and direct feedback while trying to tie everything back to your "why." Importantly, I think letters of recommendation are the most underrated part of the application. I have tools to help my clients maximize their recommendations. For investors, my framework is similar. Pitching a stock is all about crafting a coherent narrative and starting a conversation with your interviewer. I've conducted over 50 equity research interviews and pitched stocks for over five years professionally. I give direct feedback and help my clients get offers. I am from a non-target undergrad, the University of Utah, I think I can be particularly helpful for "dark horse" applicants.
Why do I coach?
Every major accomplishment in my life has come with the aid of a coach, mentor, or teammate. It brings me great joy to serve in these roles and help friends/strangers unlock goals they previously didn't think were achievable.
