About Boone

Welcome! I’m Boone Cannon, an alumnus of Emory University and the University of North Texas. With a strong passion for empowering students, I focus on helping them feel confident and well-prepared throughout the college application process. I specialize in essay editing, offering detailed feedback and in-line revisions to help students craft unique and compelling essays for both admissions and scholarships. Additionally, I provide strategic advising to assist students in narrowing down their application list and selecting competitive coursework that aligns with their academic goals.

Why do I coach?

I became a coach due to my firsthand experience with the challenges of navigating higher education. Early on, I lacked a clear understanding of the college application process and what admissions committees sought beyond strong academic performance. Thanks to the guidance of my own advisor, I learned which courses would enhance my competitiveness as an applicant and what characteristics define a unique and impactful essay. Throughout my college journey, I had the opportunity to continually apply and refine these skills. Now, I am eager to share this knowledge with the next generation of students, helping them succeed in their academic pursuits.
