20+ people coached for Higher Education
Prior to becoming a coach, I spent 20 years working in higher education. I was a Recruitment Coordinator, monitoring searches across the entire University to ensure that candidates were being fairly considered. And after I completed my PhD, I was the Assistant Director of a large, multi-faceted Research Center, where I managed a staff and controlled the budget of my own grant-funded projects. Now that I'm a coach, I love to bring that experience to benefit others in the higher education world. Dissertation coaching is a passion of mine--I'm highly successful at guiding others through the bewildering process from proposal to defense. All with a warm, friendly, positive outlook!

About Becky
It was a Thursday in August 2015, and I was driving home from a job that was wearing away at my soul. I said to myself for what had to be the 100th time, "I can't keep doing this." And as clear as can be, I heard the response, "Then stop doing this." So I did. The short version of the story is that I quit my full-time job, went to work for myself, and got certified as a Leadership and Career coach. In the nearly 10 years since I left behind my steady, well-paying job, I have never looked back. But I realize that such a clear direction isn't in the cards for every person at a crossroad. Not everyone's path forward can be laid out by a voice from beyond, and that's where coaching comes in. I want to work with people who feel stuck--who aren't sure what comes next--in their lives, career, education, relationships.
Why do I coach?
My first-hand experience with a coach is one of the reasons I believe in the power of coaching to guide people through whatever life is throwing at them. Brenda, my dissertation coach, was at least as important to me as my faculty advisor when I was making that final push to complete my PhD. I was a working mom of two kids under 4, and her support was invaluable. Now, I want to provide just that kind of support to others. I love working with dissertation students, along with growing professionals, and with people who are considering a career change. Unflagging support, expanded vision, and creative perspectives are hallmarks of my coaching and what I'll bring to each of my coaching relationships.
