Head of business operations, head of strategy, and head of data and analytics at SamCart. SamCart is a Series B startup, backed by Eldridge, TTV Capital, Fin VC, George Kaiser Foundation, and eGateway Capital. SamCart was valued at $300M+ at the time of investment. As the head of BizOps, I lead a team that is responsible for supporting the organization and the various members of the leadership team through data analysis, strategic problem solving, long-term strategy planning, etc. We've worked closely with marketing, product, sales, finance, and the executive team. Member of my team have come from a variety of backgrounds and I have been able to help them be successful in their respective roles.

Typeset is an AI content generation software tool designed for e-books, slide shows, visual documents, social media, etc. Typeset was acquired by SamCart prior to its launch to the market and I was brought on as the director of Strategy and Operations. Alongside the head of the business unit, we grew Typeset to $2M ARR within 6 months of launch. As head of BizOps for Typeset, I was responsible for building out the BizOps team. As a team, we built the strategy for growing the Typeset organization and originated the support, sales, and marketing functions. We were responsible for a quick-paced test-and-learn approach across all of our initiatives as a business. As the hiring manager across BizOps and numerous other functions for Typeset, I was able to see first hand what skills and backgrounds stood out in the interview process and enabled a candidate to get hired. I also experienced first hand hiring for a pre-funding startup vs. an established VC backed startup.

At the time, AtoB was a Series B startup valued at $800M+ backed by General Catalyst, Elad Gil, Bloomberg Beta, Y Combinator, XYZ; founders and CEOs of companies such as Google (Eric Schmidt), Salesforce (Marc Benioff), Coinbase (Brian Armstrong), DoorDash (Tony Xu), Stripe, Instacart, Gusto; strategic investors like Mastercard. AtoB specializes in the FinTech space specifically for the trucking and logistics industry. As an early BizOps hire and as one of the first 40 employees, I experienced the true rollercoaster of a media proclaimed "rocket ship." I built a deep understanding of the Business Operations role within tech and startups, especially at a company that has a vast amount of "operating" to do (think the difference between an operations role at DoorDash vs Netflix). The BizOps team was responsible for building out the functions of AtoB as it quickly scaled in the market. I personally owned the early customer lifecycle function as well as the first Product Management roles. I was also involved in the hiring of dozens of additional BizOps team members and was able to see the clear qualities, approaches, backgrounds, skills, and performances needed to stand out and get hired in a competitive tech role.

I was able to gain a true consulting skill set, without having to travel as much as a Big 3 management consultant (although it felt like we worked more hours sometimes). I was able to really hone my skillset of - Problem solving in whitespaces - Building frameworks - Communicating and storytelling - Managing stakeholders and cross-functional partners Ultimately, I realized I'm much more of an owner and executer than I am a pure strategic thought partner. Regardless, I loved rubbing shoulders with the extremely smart and talented executives at Capital One.

Started and owned a local small business in the pet grooming industry. No, I didn't groom any dogs or cats (I'm actually allergic to pets!), but I did get to wear countless hats requited to start and operate a small business and grow it to $250k in revenue within the first year. Including but not limited to... - Building / Managing all-start team of 10 employees - Achieving 5.0 star review ratings on Google,Yelp, and Thumbtack - Creating robust marketing plan, budget, and execution - Developing 20%+ revenue and customer growth month over month Ultimately, I was able to exit the business by selling to the first employee after providing ample training to allow this employee to continue to operate successfully. A win-win for both of us!
