About Amin
My Journey: Mentor in Dentistry At just sixteen years old, I faced the life-changing challenge of leaving my home country as a refugee, navigating life across two new countries before finally settling in the United States. Despite these hurdles, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry with minors in Music and Mathematics from the prestigious University of California, San Diego. My early career as a research assistant at the Salk Institute and as an aide for a special-needs instructor in the Poway School District laid a strong foundation for my commitment to education, empathy, and service. These experiences ultimately fueled my passion for dentistry and prepared me for the rigorous journey ahead. At UCSF School of Dentistry, I was not only committed to my own success but also deeply invested in the well-being of my classmates, offering support for both academic and personal challenges. Beyond dental school, I dedicated two summers to mentoring underserved students, helping them prepare for college and careers in medicine and dentistry. After earning my dental degree, I spent four years completing specialized training in hospital, geriatric, and pediatric dentistry. This advanced training equipped me to excel in both private practice and academia. I served as Director of the Pediatric Residency Program at UCLA for one year, alongside a thriving private practice. Over the past 23 years as a practicing dentist, I’ve spent 18 of those years passionately contributing to pediatric dentistry, aiding and mentoring 1000 of adolscent on pursuit of college education and higher degrees. As a director of residency, I have reviewed hundreds of application to choose the top applicants for pediatric dentistry. My advocacy extends beyond the clinic. I have aligned my mission with service by participating in 25 dental mission trips to Mexico, two trips to Israel, and eight years of free surgeries for a local organization. These experiences have taught me the value of compassion, adaptability, and leadership. As a coach, I draw on this rich and diverse background to guide aspiring dentists. My journey is one of perseverance, growth, and a relentless drive to make a difference. I understand the unique challenges students face because I’ve lived them, and I am committed to helping others overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams. Whether preparing for dental school, navigating the demands of clinical practice, or pursuing specialized training, my combination of real-world experience, academic excellence, and dedication to service positions me to provide exceptional guidance. Together, we will build a foundation for your success and craft a path toward a meaningful and impactful career in dentistry.
