About Abe

Hi, I'm Abe! I moved to the United States from Egypt during high school as an asylee, navigating a new culture and educational system. While attending community college, I worked full-time at Walmart, where I started as a cashier and advanced to lead an e-commerce operation with over 65 associates. This role honed my skills in leadership and strategic management. Now, I'm a junior at BYU, majoring in Finance with a minor in Computer Science. I began exploring investment banking and private equity while transferring from community college, overcoming challenges such as a 3.33 GPA, limited industry experience, and being a diversity candidate. I’m thrilled to be joining Barclays in New York as a Summer Analyst in 2025. My mission is to help clients excel in investment banking recruitment by aligning their career paths with their values and skills. I emphasize long-term goal setting and help you weigh the risks and rewards of different career options, which fuels my passion for finance. Outside of academics, I enjoy reading English literature, Disney comics, and history. I also love cooking Middle Eastern cuisine and playing golf. I’ve mentored students from diverse backgrounds, assisting them in leveraging their unique stories to shine in the recruitment process.
