About Matthew
Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia - I am a recent graduate of Stanford Business School, MBB consultant and aspiring entrepreneur. My story is one of lifelong learning and growth - meeting new people, traveling to new places, and learning new things. This mentality has blessed me with a breadth of knowledge and experience that I hope to share with others. As a kid, life was about school and sports, especially Basketball and Australian Football. I spent most of my waking hours shooting hoops with my brother, kicking the football at the park, or trying to solve the next challenging math or science problem. The hard work payed off - being awarded valedictorian and choice over my future. At university I pursued a double degree in Engineering (Civil) and Law, with a brief foray into Architecture. While at university I travelled to as many countries as I could, undertook three exchange programs (Berkeley, Italy and Malaysia) and worked part time as a structural engineer at Arup and Inhabit Group. Upon graduating, I joined BCG as a management consultant and worked on a variety of strategy projects for Government, Energy and Mining clients. In addition to client work, I helped found BCG's health and wellbeing program, 'Thriving', and advocated for my colleagues as Associate Lead on a number of issues - staffing, work-life balance, diversity, inclusion, etc. In 2021, I took a break from BCG to undertake my MBA at Stanford. I just graduated, started my own company and moved to NYC - a dream I have had since I was little.
Why do I coach?
I am where I am today because of the people who have supported me in my education and career. I want to pay it forward, especially to help those who do not have the resources or opportunities that many others are fortunate to have. Coaching and mentoring is something that I love doing. I hope that by sharing some of my learnings thus far I can help at least one more person pursue their dreams.
